Four years ago, Amy was my first "yes" to Be the Heroine, my original group program.

She was juggling three jobs as a hospice nurse and nurse educator – overworked, undervalued, and exhausted. She was also single and desired partnership. She knew she was a great mom but wasn't sure of herself in most of the other areas of her life.

And yet she knew she had more to give! She knew she wanted to make a greater impact.

Today, Amy is certain of her purpose: she is here to change the way we talk about death.

She is the paradigm shifter behind Amy Hensley LLC: death education and empowerment. Serving both healthcare professionals and families, Amy’s workshops teach everyone how to facilitate a good death – peaceful and as comfortable and as free from fear as possible. She's also in a deeply satisfying romantic relationship. And as she says in this interview, joining Be the Heroine was “one of the best decisions” she ever made. “Maybe I could have gotten where I am today without Be the Heroine… but, damn! I’m glad I didn’t have to!”
