A relaxed, interactive workshop to help you plan for end-of-life conversations before crisis hits.
She stood by his bed, wringing her hands. He looked so frail and vulnerable, laying still, connected to beeping machines with tubes crisscrossing every which way. When I asked, "Is this what he would want?", she replied, "It happened so fast. We never had time to talk about it."
Sips & Wishes is where it all began. After witnessing families guessing "what would they want?", this curriculum was developed to educate and empower. Even those couples who have been married for sixty years just "never got around" to having the conversation. The family's uncertainty leaves questions, guilt, or shame, which leads to complicated grief. We won’t take away the grief, but we’ll take away the trauma.
So let's talk about it! Over a beverage (...see...that's where the "Sips" comes from.)
At a Sips & Wishes workshop, you gain valuable knowledge and tools to advocate for yourself and have meaningful conversations with your loved ones.
Instead of hearing about feeding tubes and ventilators in the doorway of a hospital room, Sips & Wishes is hosted in comfortable, welcoming spaces like living rooms, rec rooms, and community centers. Each session combines education with conversation over light refreshments. This isn't a lecture — it's a supportive space to get clarity, ask questions, and create a personalized plan.

Is it hard to talk with your parents or kids about death? Has a friend told you about their guilt and second-guessing because they had to decide if they should put a feeding tube in their mom? Our culture hides death, and many healthcare professionals see death as failure. Luckily for you, you found a nurse who wants to help with these difficult conversations...to explain what it means to “do everything” to “save” a life.

Real medical equipment is shared to demystify the tools. Medical treatments and their purpose are discussed. Real stories are shared to help the information sink in. Sharing personal experiences isn't just for the presenters, but the participants, too. Let's hear your stories. And ask any "taboo" question. Learning about the sequence and side effects of these medical treatments and interventions helps you make educated decisions about what you want for your body.

All of the curriculum is purposeful and designed by a Master's prepared educator. You are encouraged to ask questions and engage in thoughtful discussions. Participants report feeling energized, comforted, and empowered following the workshop.

With this unique education, you have the chance to discover your wishes and amplify your voice. It's expected that your loved ones will experience grief when you're gone. The Sips & Wishes workshop offers a solution to the guilt of not knowing what you want. Please do this for them.

With years of nursing experience in hospice and end-of-life care, Amy brings professional medical expertise and compassionate guidance to help you navigate these important conversations. Her nursing and teaching background means you're getting accurate, reliable information from someone who's been there.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Sips & Wishes, but I’m sure glad I was invited! In a candidly compassionate environment, Amy helped everyone learn our responsibilities and rights. I was guided through my choices and given a chance to support my fellow partygoers. Afterwards, I had a great conversation with my partner about what each of us hope for and need to know.
It was so eye opening to learn about medical interventions and how it's so different from what is shown on TV. It was helpful to learn from an RN who has seen these interventions in real life. It was a great opportunity for me to learn about what I would want for myself, what my husband would want, what my parents would want. Just conversations that we had not had yet...conversations that need to happen sooner rather than later.
Sips & Wishes is bringing to the forefront a subject that 90% of people don’t really wanna talk about and in most cases should (and will have to eventually!). Lots of great info and things to think about. The presentation was spot on and answered any questions. Amy was very well equipped to do this presentation (background and experience in this field). God bless her in her endeavors and objective of educating the masses on this touchy subject.

Amy transformed a potentially sensitive topic into something genuinely enjoyable. She navigated the subject matter with grace and humor, ensuring we not only understood the key points, but also had an entertaining experience. Her unique blend of wit, empathy, and masterful communication skills left a lasting, positive impression on everyone, evident in the waves of laughter that filled the room.
I found that Sips & Wishes offers information regarding serious and complicated topics in a very warm and inviting environment. Amy is very experienced and knowledgeable yet very relatable.
I didn't know what to expect when I attended the Sips & Wishes workshop. The group was diverse in medical knowledge and life experience, which made for well-rounded, thoughtful discussions.

68% of Americans don't have advance directives. That means when crisis hits, families are left making impossible decisions without guidance.
Having these conversations ahead of time is one of the most loving gifts you can give your family. It's not about being morbid — it's about being prepared.
This matters because people matter.
At Sips & Wishes, we hold space for the hard stuff and help you get things done. You'll leave with clarity, confidence, and a plan. So when life happens, you and your family are ready.
Anyone who wants to plan ahead, whether you're in your 20s or 80s. This workshop is for individuals, couples, families, and everyone who cares about their loved ones.
Just yourself and an open mind! We provide all materials, refreshments, a workbook and pen.
Absolutely not! This is for anyone who wants to be proactive. The best time to plan is when you DON'T need it yet.
That's completely normal and welcome. We create a safe, supportive environment where all feelings are honored. There is no pressure — just conversation and support.
Only if you want to! We have group discussions, but you're never required to share. You can participate at your own comfort level.
Love means having hard conversations.
Give your family the gift of clarity.
